EventGo Launches Sustainable Events Initiative

EventGo is proud to announce the launch of our Sustainable Events Initiative, a comprehensive program designed to help event organizers reduce their environmental footprint. The initiative provides resources, guidelines, and tools for implementing sustainable practices at events of all sizes. Key features include a carbon calculator for estimating event emissions, partnerships with carbon offset providers, a directory of eco-friendly vendors, and a certification program for events meeting specific sustainability criteria. Additionally, EventGo users can now filter events based on sustainability ratings and contribute to offset programs when purchasing tickets.

The Sustainable Events Initiative includes:

  • Environmental Impact Assessment Tool for organizers
  • Sustainability Certification Program with three tiers
  • Directory of pre-vetted sustainable vendors and suppliers
  • Carbon offset purchasing options integrated into ticket sales
  • Educational resources and best practices guides

"Events bring people together, but they can also have a significant environmental impact," says EventGo's Head of Sustainability. "Our initiative aims to make sustainability accessible and achievable for events of all sizes, from small community gatherings to major festivals."

EventGo has partnered with leading environmental organizations to develop and validate the program's standards. The company aims to have 1,000 certified sustainable events on the platform by the end of 2024.
